Verbatim is launching a DVD that enables
users to easily archive photos in just a few steps. The
new PhotoSave DVD has integrated software that starts automatically
when the DVD is inserted into a DVD burner and guides the
user step-by-step through the process from choosing pictures
to burning them to disc.
Searching for specific photographs on
a home computer or burning to DVD is not always child's
play for everyone. This is why Verbatim has now developed
a DVD-R featuring pre-installed software to reliably guide
the user through the entire process. The software starts
automatically, and the search for photos on the PC is automated
too, which means that the user only has to click on the
"Burn" menu option to save memories to DVD. In manual mode,
the PhotoSave DVD also supports "search & burn" functionality,
which enables images to be archived directly from a digital
camera connected to the PC. With a storage capacity of 4.5GB,
the DVD can hold up to 2,000* photographs in 80 different
formats. The PhotoSave DVD is also able to perform several
recording sessions: the available memory is constantly displayed,
so that photographs can be added easily even later on. Data
volumes over 4.5GB are automatically distributed over several
PhotoSave DVDs.
"With the new Verbatim PhotoSave DVD,
we are making the long-term archiving of photos easier than
ever - even for users who have never burned a CD or DVD
before. This DVD combines user-friendliness with the reliability
and compatibility Verbatim is renowned for," explains Torsten
Leye, Marketing Manager Optical Verbatim EUMEA
Verbatim PhotoSave DVDs can be used with
Windows 2000, XP and Vista systems and require a DVD-R writer.
* Photo capacity based on average compressed
JPG size of 2MB/photo. Actual results may vary.
